Girls Golf:

Traverse City West’s Anika Dy was named Miss Golf for the second time by the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association – Traverse City Record-Eagle

 

Cross Country:

Coldwater’s Shuaib Aljabaly and Lansing Catholic’s Olivia Theis were named Mr. Cross Country and Miss Cross County, respectively, by the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association – Coldwater Daily Reporter

 

Hockey:

1. The first games of the season can be played today, and Petoskey is among teams anticipating a return to the ice – Petoskey News-Review

Girls Varsity Swimming & Diving · Medley Relay Team headed to State Meet


The Medley Relay Team of Eva Deyoung, Alina Offerman, Delaney Eller, and Carly Loken qualified for the State Meet last Friday during the preliminary races of the SMAC Championship Meet.

They will head to the Holland Aquatic Center for the MHSAA Finals on Friday 11/17. The meet begins at Noon and the Medley Relay is the first event of the day.

Knights News · Don’t Forget- BLUE CARD Needed


Men’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Bowling, Competitive Cheer, Men’s and Women’s Skiing, and Wrestling all begin their official seasons on Monday.

Please remember each athlete will need a BLUE CARD to begin practicing. You qualify for a BLUE CARD once your physical, code of conduct, and the consent form are submitted at the Athletic Office with the $25 Insurance Fee. The athlete will also have to meet the grade requirement for participation.

If an athlete is cut, they will receive a refund of their insurance money if they did not play a Fall sport.

Please share this information. We do not want anyone sitting out on Monday.

Knights News · Women’s Basketball and Competitive Cheer Tryouts begin Monday


One more reminder that Winter Athletic tryouts resume on Monday.

Women’s Basketball will have tryouts Monday and Tuesday from 3-5.

Competitive Cheer will have tryouts on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6-8.

Please remember that athletes need all of their documents and payments submitted to the Athletic Office BEFORE they are allowed to tryout.

-Physical dated after April 15, 2007

– $25 Athletic Insurance payment (once per year)

– Parent Consent Form (once per season)

-Athletic Code of Conduct Form (once per year)

– Grade Check

Once students have returned all of the documents, their coach will receive a blue card from the Athletic Office which allows them to tryout for the team.

The $25 Insurance Fee will be returned if an athlete is cut from a team.

Boys Varsity Cross Country · Cross Country Update


Sophomore Joe Meyers will run at 3:30 on Saturday at the MHSAA Division 1 State Final. The event will be held at MIS.

Joe is the SMAC Champion and the Regional Runner-up and is competing at the MHSAA State Final for the first time.

Knights News · Volleyball advances; Swim Conference Meet this weekend


The Varsity Volleyball Team advanced to the District Semi-Finals with a 25-22, 25-15, 25-10 win over Battle Creek Central last night at BCC.

Gull Lake Eliminated Sturgis and BC Lakeview defeated BC Harper Creek in the other Quarterfinals on Monday.

The Semi-Finals are Wednesday at the host site Gull Lake:

5:30- Loy Norrix vs. BC Lakeview

7:00- #14 Gull Lake vs. Coldwater

Final- Saturday 11/4 at 11:00 A.M.

 

The Women’s Swimming and Diving Conference Meet will Be this Friday and Saturday at BCC.

Prelims are Friday at 11, Finals on Saturday at Noon.

The Conference Meet is 2/3 of the total for the final standings. The Knights, 7-3 overall were 4th in the dual meet portion of the season and are looking to move up.

Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Sophomore Joe Meyers headed to MHSAA State Meet


The MHSAA Cross Country Regional Meets were held on Saturday at Portage West Middle School.

Sophomore Joe Meyers finished 2nd with a time of 16:04 which earned him a spot in the MHSAA State Final on Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. The Division 1 Men’s Race will begin at 3:30.

Freshman Joy Hart was the top Women’s finisher with a 20:05 which placed her 20th overall. The top 15 runners overall were automatic qualifiers as well as the top 3 teams.

In the Men’s Race the team qualifiers were Kalamazoo Central, East Kentwood and Portage Central. The Knights finished ahead of Mattawan and Byron Center by finishing 14th place.

In the Women’s Race, the team was 12th place overall finishing ahead of East Kentwood, Kalamazoo Central, and Mattawan. Caledonia, Holland West Ottawa, and Hudsonville were the team qualifiers from the Women’s Race.
